1. x + y = 3
2. x - y = -3
Given: y = (x² - y²)/(x - y) and x ≠ y
As x ≠ y, (x - y) ≠ 0 thus we can write,
.... y = (x² - y²)/(x - y) = (x + y)(x - y)/(x - y) = (x + y)
=> x = 0

Statement 1: (x + y) = 3
Thus, y = (x + y) = 3

Sufficient.

Statement 1: (x - y) = -3
We know x = 0 => y = 3

Sufficient.

The correct answer is D.
