In geometry, a plane is defined as a flat surface with no thickness. Imagine the top of a table. The top surface of the table is a plane. Any objects lying on the table would be said to be "in the plane" of the tabletop.
Coordinate Plane
The plane formed by a horizontal axis and a vertical axis, often labeled the x-axis and y-axis, respectively.
