Diana,
I was intrigued by your post because I am in a similar predicament. I have not been invited to interview for Georgetown's evening program. If I do not hear back within the next week I'm assuming that I will not be considered for admission. A little about myself, my second GMAT score was a 670 and I graduated from WashU with a 3.5 GPA. I work at an Advertising agency but most of what I do is administrative. Although I recently graduated in 2007, my biggest crutch has been my lack of management experience. From what I understand it's an important factor when applying to most MBA programs. How many people do you oversee in your current financial position?
You mentioned your friend had very minimal professional experience. I doubt that a 640 alone would get anyone an interview to Georgetown. A 640 is not high enough to make enough of an impact on its own. Perhaps there's more to her application. Did she have strong recommendations? How much lower was her GPA? What is her career and is it related to business? I'm very curious. I too felt as though I should have received an interview. Feel free to contact me at [email protected]
Best of luck!
Tom

Dear Diana and Tom,
Try to stay positive as schools will invite folks to interview up until the last possible minute. Perhaps you will receive your interview invitation soon? I agree with Tom that it is unlikely the GMAT score, alone, is the reason for one person to receive an interview over another. Evaluations are holistic and many components are taken into account. Without seeing all of the applications, it is truly difficult to assess why one person received an interview over another. I do encourage you to contact the admissions office to inquire on your application and make sure it is there in its entirety. If the application is not complete, then that could be why you have not heard anything. It also gives you an opportunity to ask when interview invitations will go out and perhaps you can determine if one will be coming.
Best of luck,
Lisa
