The inspiration for the painting wasn't from the brutality and cruelty. It was the brutality and cruelty.

IMO-D

The inspiration for the painting wasn't from the brutality and cruelty. It was the brutality and cruelty.

How could this be? It seems like this: the inspiration was the brutality and the cruelity of the book ?

Do I have to be a native speaker to get this one ?

oh this question can be confusing but if u just read it out, was definitely sounds right. the inspiration cant be the brutality.

or, Sachin started playing cricket at the age of 7 and his inspiration was Sunil Gavaskar.

Sachin started playing cricket at the age of 7 and his inspiration WAS FROM Sunil Gavaskar.
