Crack the GMAT and Veritas

Hi
I took a free Crack the GMAT and Veritas test. Both the tests got me a petty score of 580.
Crack the GMAT -
Verbal (18 with 16 Wrong)
Maths (45 with 9 Wrong)

Veritas
Verbal (18 with 20 Wrong)
Maths (45 with 6 Wrong)

Is this a genuine scoring?
Are the tests close to the real GMAT Exam?
Please suggest.

The closest thing to the real test is GMATprep, which you can download at mba.com. Most people take test #1 from this software to know where they stand (i.e. figure out a baseline score). Historically, I understand Veritas and Princeton are a bit generous with scoring.

I am going to take the mba.com test soon, but does scoring so low on Veritas test mean that there needs to be a rigorous improvement to touch the coveted 700 mark?
I just got 5 questions wrong on the test, but still managed only 45 on Quant. Although my Verbal was pathetic, I don't think scoring 45 on Quant is justified.
Can you please throw some light on this since my morale after these two tests is highly low and i am planning to re-schedule my test date?

Your suggestions are highly required on this since I am going to take the test the second time and am scoring lower than I was in my previous attempt. I hadn't tried Crack the gmat and Veritas the last time, so don't know exactly where I stand.

Getting just 5 wrong will likely put you somewhere around 47-50. I don't think a 45 is accurate, unless you got all 5 wrong in a row. I can't really say for sure how low (if low, that is) your real score is. My opinion is that your previous attempt should be your baseline score: use that as something to build upon, working on your weaknesses.

Hi Dana,
I just took a MGMAT Online Test and scored 680 on that, although I had to pause the Maths part for last 5-6 odd questions, considering the Maths on MGMAT is tougher than expected.
Got 14 wrong in Quant and 16 Wrong in Verbal.
Scaled Average - Quant - 48, Verbal - 34.
Am a bit confused whether this is the right scaled average.
Can you suggest whether I should go ahead and take the test next week, aiming 700 or above with a 680 score in MGMAT. I am planning to re-schedule my test since I don't feel confident in RC, making more than 50% mistakes still.
