There is no mistake in this sentence. Let's have a look at the options:
B --> "following and his envisioning" changes the meaning of sentence.
C --> "after Robert" changes the meaning.
D --> from Robert..forward changes the meaning
E --> "his own envisioning" changes the meaning.

IMO critique Vs critquing....since we need to tell about the noun that immediately precedes the modifier...so critique....

B and C breaks parallelism....so only A left.
