FIGURE DESCRIPTION: Shaded part is the part on number line from -5 to 3 inclusive

(A) |X| LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 3

(B) |X| LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 5

(C) |X-2| LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 3

(D) |X-1| LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 3

(E) |X+1| LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 4

---------- -5 ----------------- x -------------- 3 -----------------

The question is asking which inequality expresses the region

-5<= x <= 3

|x+1| <= 4
x+1 <= 4 and -x-1 <= 4
x<=3 and x >= -5
-5<= x <= 3

Oh!!
So we just need to remove absolute sign and find two values of x that defines endpoints of shaded line.
Never faced this kind of question before, was confused by language
Thanks
