Fish - GMAT Prep question

by Vemuri » Sat May 02, 2009 2:40 am
This question was posted earlier --> https://www.beatthegmat.com/fish-t35259.html#144318, but the discussion was more on what is the correct answer.

I want to understand how the pronouns used in the correct answer (D), refer to the fish? I am clearly confused with the usage of they & their and their reference. Can someone please explain? Appreciate your responses.

IMO D.

The main subject of the sentence is to meet the market demand.
So to meet the market demand the supplier has to increase his productivity.

So for that he has to grow the fishes quickly by giving them special food.So that he can meet the demand.

In option A the 'growth rate' is being discussed where as it
has to be only 'growth'.
