Hi,

I am planning to apply at the Said Business School, Oxford University, in the final round. Please evaluate my profile

1) Unfortunately I belong to the over represented category - Indian/IT/Male
2) I have been working as a Business Analyst / Functional Consultant at a leading US Bank. and not core technology related work.
3) Exp close to 6 years. Most of it in US
4) GMAT 710
5) Under grad : Computer Science Engg
6) Actively participating in volunteer work since college days thru workplace
7) Author of a blog on economics
8) Founded a website to provide career guidance to college students and young professionals.

Post MBA aspirations - Consulting

What should I highlight most in my applications and essays, such that my IT related background does not overcast the rest of my profile.
Also, at this moment I am not having any other fallback option since most of the schools are past their admissions round for the next academic year. I am willing to apply to other colleges if this one does not work out, but I would like to give my best shot at it.

Dear s138884,

You need to present your background in the best light possible, hopefully highlighting aspects of your background that might be unique from similar applicants. If possible, you want to emphasize your managerial skills and convey realistic career goals in relation to your past experience and business school.

Best of luck,
Lisa
