What fraction of this year's students in a certain college are males?

1) 33% of males and 20% of females at the college transferred from another college

2) Of this year's students, 25% transferred from another college

OA is C. I don't understand why it isn't E.

Is the question not

.33 M + .20F = .25(M+F)

Then it will be C)

What fraction of this year's students in a certain college are males?

1) 33% of males and 20% of females at the college transferred from another college

33/100(x) + 20/100(y) = 25/100( x+y)

8x = 5y

so we can have the fraction ...

C

2) Of this year's students, 25% transferred from another colleg
