raunekk,

The fact that your thread was locked immediately and this wasnt doesnt in any way lessen the seriousness of the situation. What happened in your case was that a Mod was around and therefore your thread got locked immediately. In this case, i suspect there a coupla posts before the Mods came in. Now we dont lock threads for the heck of it, and we are even more loathed to do so when there's a healthy/interesting/good discussion going on. I guess that's why this thread didnt get locked

However, dont take it personally that your thread got locked and this one didnt. It wasnt intentional, you were just plain unlucky. Not that much you would have benefited either way but still :)

I would just like to reaffirm what Neo said. I locked that thread because I was around and I did not lock this thread because I had not noticed this thread until today. But this does not change the fact that BTG will not tolerate any sort of copyright violations.

We are keeping this thread open just in case anyone else wants to comment on the issue.

Cheers

www.amazon.com would help you!
May be you are right but what is your opinion about the open source IT projects. I hope its well known fight between the open-source projects vs. closed-source project (for which MS faced Antitrust law).

IMHO, knowledge should be freely distributed. One may can charge for his/her service as people do in Open-source projects' companies.

Anyway this is just a personal thought and I am not imposing it on anyone.

PS: May be Powerscore would also face Antitrust law if it would succeeded like Microsoft. :D

Good Luck
Well open source projects are not the same as pirating a copyrighted material.

If you were to come up with something identical to whatever the hell is in this 'powerscore 800' material, distribute it under an 'open source license' that's fine. But just taking 'powerscore 800' and distributing it cannot be termed as an open source initiative.

Well .. torrents are just a super efficient medium of content distribution, right ? So a torrent can be used very effectively for ethical as well as unethical purposes. There's no holistic answer to 'what's ethical'. Like I personally consider posting copyrighted material as unethical - but at the same time I think patents are unethical as well :). Oh well let me not digress ..

I think patents are useful but i hate the pricing model that consequently follows a patented medicine. Patents are useful in encouraging research and innovation and i know that not only does it cost millions of dollars to get a drug into the market, it also costs numerous millions in research on drugs that didnt make it to the market.

And, if i'm not wrong, Torrents also have a disclaimer saying Please ensure you are not sharing copy-righted material
