Subjenctive Mood

by hemant_rajput » Fri Mar 29, 2013 6:04 am
Hi all,

I was going through the MGMAT material and found this sentence.

Right: The vice-president WANTS her TO GO to the retreat.
Wrong: The vice-president WANTS THAT she GO to the retreat.

If this is the pattern then how can this sentence is correct:

"We demand THAT HE BE here", shouldn't it be like this "We demand her to BE here."
I'm no expert, just trying to work on my skills. If I've made any mistakes please bear with me.

Subjunctive forms of verbs are typically used to express various states of unreality such as wish, emotion, possibility, judgment, opinion, or action that has not yet occurred.

A demand is not the subjunctive mood.
