Okay, let me put it this way. I have sent 3 PMs on three different days. I have posted 1 question in each of those 3 PMs. I have received reply for my first one and they said they would update it in their database. The other 2 PMs( dated 16th July, 18th July) are still in my outbox. So, I guess they haven't checked those PMs. As there must have been loads of PMs to experts, I guess those 2 PMs were overlooked. I would like to clarify one more thing. Those 3 mistakes were not from the same test. They were spread among 3 different tests. With all due respect to Veritas Prep, I am posting this so that they will update such typos/errors in their database.

Indeed a tricky thought, using what's commonly accepted in GMAT.
However, don't you think that in doing so, you actually imply that the answer is C, as you seem to evaluate both statements to come to a definite answer?

To allay confusion, I've revised my post above. It now shows a direct proof (not unlike Frankenstein's) that statement 2 is sufficient on its own.

We do take these comments into account and we do take them seriously. Actually we very much appreciate when people work to help us improve our tests. Remember that on the official GMAT you have all of those questions that do not even count - those are questions that are being tested and edited. If you have read any of my posts you know that a great question is not written but rewritten.

Let me assure you that you comments are being followed up on and any needed changes made.

As to our reputation being at stake, let me just share this little story with you - A few years ago while taking the official GMATPrep Test I got the EXACT SAME sentence correction question twice! That's right, on the same test. So things do happen even with official GMAC materials.

This question and the other two that Frankenstein has mentioned over the course of 5 tests will be carefully reviewed. With that many questions in play there will always be errors, but they should be corrected once they are found -- and any errors will be corrected.
