Guys,

A really basic question, but I can't work it out...

The perimeter of a certain isosceles right triangle is 16 + 16√2. What is the length of the hypotenuse of the triangle?

A.8
B.16
C.4√2
D.8√2
E.16√2

The ratio is 1: 1: √2. Shouldn't it be 16√2 but the OA is different...

perimeter of a right angled isosceles triangle=a+a+√2a
=2a+√2a. given the perimeter is 16 + 16√2

or 2a+√2a=16 + 16√2
=>√2a(1+√2)=16(1+√2)
=>a=16/√2

hypotanuse: √2a*16/√2=16
