Ice that carved!

The features of the floor of the Kasei Valles on Mars look just like those at the base of Antarctic ice streams, so it suggests that possibly it was flowing ice that carved the giant Martian channels previously attributed to cataclysmic floods.

(A) so it suggests that possibly it was flowing ice that
(B) a suggestion that flowing ice may have
(C) to suggest flowing ice as possibly having
(D) suggesting that flowing ice may have
(E) which is suggestive of flowing ice having possibly
COMMA + ABSTRACT NOUN == Summative modifier.

I was between B and D, and finally selected B. What is the wrong in B?

Please explain.
I do not know the exact rule to apply here. But I chose D because:

After the comma, we need a word that reflects the complete idea of the preceding clause. We know that -ing modifier does this. So Chose D.

I think B would have been correct if there was a - instead of ,
Also, I doubt if "A Suggestion that" is the correct usage.

Grammatically the option B is correct, but the problem in this option is in the summation. Option B has applied the concept of summative modifier, which sums the concept of the previous clause and start with that clause.

What has been said in the clause before "COMMA + suggest" is not a suggestion. It is just an statement. So, the use of summative modifier is not correct.

I don't think the use of noun 'a suggestion' in B is correct. In my opinion 'The features' will always suggest/suggesting. They will not be 'a suggestion'.

Correct me if I am wrong.
