going by option eliminatin
first 2 option consist of black americans
and next three of black american
one of the three best novels written by a black american( as we are concerned about one)
so first two options are wrong
in next three option option E is best option as its concise
and including is wrongly used in option C
Ideation without execution is delusion

since the subject refers to singular person,it should be Black american.

Also note the parallelism.Jean tommer's Cane.

So the other authors should be mentioned in the same way as above.
