Well ...great game...
Thanks for it
BUT
I still dont see the very important rule in "Rules" page that Likes are alloted per day basis and are perishable
I think rules page should be updated with that.(which is very big and important info)

As a normal game player i initially thought "likes" were like "life" in normal game...higher you have for later stages better and more chances of winning the game....and lifes are carried from one stage to another.
No problem it is not so.

But clear info in rules page will be really great i guess....(i still dont see it there..which is quite important info for this game)
May be it will be helpful for new players...

At least for people like me whose game is almost ruined by lack of that info or may be misconception on my part.I think i lost some likes esp 1's.

2.In the leader board i think score with info how many likes left for the day will be for helpful to know the accurate state.Means User's score 1xx ,(user has x likes left for the day )...and so on...like penalty shootout scores in soccer

3.Are there any rules regarding maximum of how many of blogpost likes or bonuspage likes that will be published per day.I thought game was going to be more interesting with lots of 1 point likes(but it was not to be so...)
As it was game i was expecting some ups and downs----
any info on that

Just a suggestion.
Any way great game.
Keep up good work.

GMAT score is equally counted as your GPA and 78 clicks can change you life.

I agree with u for point 1..My whole game ruined coz of saving the likes for next day thinking that likes are persihable after 48 hours :( morover the guys who have not been seen discussing seems to lead the game coz they were just simply liking all the posts in their way instead of discussing various techniques like us with David...
I can see DANAj Eric and David names also :)))))))))
means suppose if Eric wins then David gonna take him to the tour or vice versa...
what if DANA wins the GMAT courses she is already in the B school and it will a waste of course for someone more in need...

In additional to just points i would really love to see what they shared and items ie items they users scored on(just heading and date it was published with points earned---and ony heading without link for active items with score---expired will have no relevance now)
I see the 20 points difference between me and the top leader... (with some likes left)
I missed may be some 1's on 1st and 2nd day (as rules was not clear that likes was alloted per day basis)
otherwise i was able to get all ....(i think all from bonus page and blog)

so from the 20 points difference i must have missed some 6 pointers from the blog page....

Is there any other way to earn points other than liking and sharing...
I hope there are no any loop hole in coding ....means may be disliking ...liking again...(just a concern)

so i would love to see what i have missed... so adding that would be great i guess....items they have scored on...

Haha guys, don't worry - the team won't be part of the draw. It wouldn't be fair since we are the ones selecting the bonus articles, so of course we know the links :)

Besides, I've already had the pleasure of visiting Stanford and Haas with the team, they're pretty awesome (both the team and the campuses - hehe)! I can only testify that whoever wins is going to have a blast!

frank1, i share your disappointment too but to reveal how others are playing (what and when they are 'liking' articles) would be not fair to them. This is a game right?? and everybody knows the rules (how to play etc) and is on the same playing board. To me, the fun part is coming up with your own strategy on what to like, when to like!

Would like to hear the comments from the moderators...

Though having an extra column in the scoreboard for how many 'likes' left would make it more interesting (and competitive)!!! :)

I hope this doesn't spark off a new debate :P

hi guys, thanks for your comments. i agree that the game has been easy (and perhaps a little confusing regarding the likes) up to now. please bear with us as we continue to improve the game. fyi, it took a couple extra days to make the changes that i planned to do such as the leaderboard because some of our servers went down and we had to spend time fixing them.

Yeah David I appreciate ur hard work for the game..but few discussions earlier between us regarding the likes costed 16 points to me..
U kept saying soon u will see signposts come and gone and choices among many likes..i started saving my likes thinking that the new things are about to come.....it was in reply to last post i realised i was doing stupidity by saving likes for other day as u give 5 likes each day..... :(((((
Now i will lag behind 16 points or more till the end of game..thats really sad on my part..... :(

on a second thought...if you liked a bonus article and i get to see it...then there is no work i have to do
Well i am not disappointed ...lol ...but matter is no compititor should feel s/he has not been defeated in fair way.....or if somebody is able to do better than other in fair way ...we should always saluate him/her and i do....
but if there are legitimate questions then it should be solved i guess.

well,i dont mean that the items(on which user has scored) should be provided with the link.Just title of the article-points-and date of scoring may be enough....how will it cause problem....(that is public info even now)

more over making real use of permutation & combination and listing out maximum possible points in the day would be great i guess....

It will make the overall mathematics transparent....it will actually is good for competitiveness of the game i guess...

and personally i would love to see how i got 23-25 points behind...(i think i had close eye on every thing)
ugoyal wrote: To me, the fun part is coming up with your own strategy on what to like, when to like!
Have you really felt it....to be frank so far i have not.I feel whoever used all the likes as it comes(1's 6's) are leading and infact who were saving likes are lagging behind for overthinking ...lol...just my personal interpretation....
I know it is too early part of the game.
ugoyal wrote: Though having an extra column in the scoreboard for how many 'likes' left would make it more interesting (and competitive)!!!

I have listed that above....(like a penalty shootout in soccer)

well it is not that lure of prize/state i am not winning etc because of which i am writing these....my saluate to the great leaders....i am just playing it for fun and infact learning a lot in over all article finding process....(which is my prize....as i was here to learn not to win prizes...lol)so i have no hard feeling at all...as said earlier thanks for the game...which refreshes the mind while learning ...
may be it is just that when you have worked so hard for something you want to be defeated with reasons(because they were better ...not because they were cleaver...lol)

any way we are in the first half of the game ...so too early to comment....

David - I think I understand this game, but just tell me if this sounds right:

There are only 2 ways to score:
1) by "liking" an article.
2) by "sharing" an article.

ALSO

-you only get 5 "likes" per day
-there are no blog postings or discussion board posts that are "likeable"

I'm just clarifying this because I trail the leaders by such a wide margin and I want to make sure that I'm not missing point opportunities.

Also - thanks for putting on this game. I know it's a helluva lot of work on your part. Much appreciated - I think it's been administered fairly, and I'm puzzled by some of the posts on this thread.

I don't know what to say but i take this opportunity to appreciate what frank1 said frankly ;)
I think we all are here to dig, read and assimilate insightful articles published by experts and should be happy to see that GAME is rightly serving our purpose. whether we win or not is secondary. but, of course, prizes will help alleviate our monetary constraints!!
