IMO C

the 'only' in A modifies women. Only is an adverb and cannot modify a noun 'women'.

So I guess it should be C.

Plus B&D are clearly out since an organization is a collective noun hence singular and need a singular verb admits and not the plural admit.

E changes the meaning.

hmmm this one is cheeky. i was trying to choose between C and E and here is my reasoning -

For E - in the stem, i think the sentence wants to convey the most weight on the condition that a candidate needs to have an appropriate descendant versus being a woman, so E works best here by shifting the placement of "only".

For C - this is the simplest and best sounding between C and E. this choices gives equal weight to both being a woman and having the right lineage, but doesnt focus on over the other.

i guess i would choose C in the end, as E could have a redundancy issue something on the lines like admittance already takes care of the "only" part.

imo: A

The Daughters of the American Revolution - is singular
so one must use 'admits' rather than 'admit'.

Choices B and D are out

As Only women can become members of The Daughters of the American Revolution so C and D are out as A specifically mentions that 'only women who can prove lineal descent'

what's the OA?
