Equation of x axis is y=0

so to find the points of intersection, we have to solve

y= (X-1) (X +1) (X-3) =0

=> (X-1) (X +1) (X-3) =0

x=1, x= -1 and x=3 are the solutions

so there are 3 such points where the curve intersects x axis
