Statistics show that although consumption of low-calories, alternative sweetners has gone up in each of the past five years, so has the percentage of population that is obese. According to sugar manufacturers, this shows that low-calories, alternative sweetners are not effective weight loss aids.

Which of the following if true, would most weaken the sugar manufacturer's conclusion?
A) Many people who use low-calories, alternative sweetners eat some foods that are not low calorie
B)Some low-calories, alternative sweetners can increase the appetite, making a person eat more than he or she could
C) Many people use low-calories, alternative sweetners to accompany a well balanced,low-calorie diet
D) Obesity has declined among people who have consistently used low-calories, alternative sweetners
E) The rise in consumption of low-calories, alternative sweetners is primarily due to an increase in number of users rather than increase in amount each user consumes.

OA later. Explain your choice
