We care about X, so let's simplify the expression by subtracting 333 from each portion:

-289 < -X < -267

and let's multiply by -1:

So:

Units digit COULD be 3 (e.g. 283)
Tens digit CANNOT be 3
Hundreds digit CANNOT be 3
