Another question

If 44<333-X<66, which of the following could be true?

I. Unit digit of X is 3
II. Tens digit of X is 3
III. Hundreds digit of X is 3

IMO - its I and III, but what are the options.

We care about X, so let's simplify the expression by subtracting 333 from each portion:

-289 < -X < -267

and let's multiply by -1:

289 > X > 267

So:

Units digit COULD be 3 (e.g. 283)
Tens digit CANNOT be 3
Hundreds digit CANNOT be 3
