OA is C but I think it should be E

Is n < 1 ?
(1) nx – n < 0
(2) x–1 = –2


So x= minus 1. Then plug in (1) and we have -2n<0 . N can be =1.1 and it doesnt work.
or
N can be = 0.5 and works.

Shouldnt it be E or am I making a mistake somewhere?

Statement I

nx-n < 0
n(x-1) < 0

We dont know anything about x or n. Therefore insufficient.

Statement II

x-1 = -2

we dont know anything about n. Insufficient.

Combining I & II

n(x-1) < 0

x-1 =-2

-2n < 0

n has to be greater than 0 to satisfy the above equation.

Therefore, n could be greater than 1 & n could be less than 1

Insufficient.

Hence E is the answer.

OA cant be C. unless you are missing something from the question stem.

If OA is C then there must be a statement saying "n is an integer" or something similar. Please make sure you're not missing that.
