For the benefit of non-members, here is the question

If Set consists of 2,3,4,5,7,9,x. Is x > 5
1) The median of seven numbers is 5
If x = 5, the median of seven numbers is 5
If x = 10, the median of seven numbers is 5
Hence insufficient.
2) x is greater than the median number.
Case 1: If x<4, median = 4
Case 2: If 4<x<5, median = x
Case 3: If 5<x, median = 5,
Only case 3 satisfies the statement x is greater than the median number. So if x is greater than the median number, x is definitely greater than 5.

IMO B
