A recent research study of undergraduate students analyzed the effects of music on human emotions. Each of the 200 participants attended at least 1 two-hour concert of classical music per week over the course of 12 weeks of their spring semester. At the end of the experiment, all of the students filled out a questionnaire assessing their emotional state. Based on the results of the questionnaires, all of the 10 students who attended the greatest number of concerts reported lower stress levels and higher satisfaction with their lives. Also, most of the 20 students who attended the fewest number of concerts reported below-average levels of emotional comfort.

Which of the following must be true based on the evidence presented above?

Most of the 200 participants improved their emotional state and lowered their stress levels.

During each week of the experiment, the participants spent at least 2 hours less on their academic work as a result of concert attendance.

Listening to classical music for at least 2 hours per week improves the emotional well-being of the majority of young adults.

More than 6 participants attended at least 14 concerts during the course of the experiment.

At least some of the students participated in the study in order to gain free access to classical concerts.

i got to D after a POE though i was skeptical about the answer .
Initially i wasnt getting the idea of how D could be correct Inference
This seemed like an integrated reasoning problem straight out of an lsat horror paper

The key to solving this question lies in arranging the numbers of concerts attended by each participant
The important thing that one must pay attention to is the presence of article the in front of the greatest and fewest .
It means only 10 guys attended the greatest numbers and only 20 guys attended the fewest numbers of concerts .
so arranging
The minimum number any guy can attend is 12 . so 20 guys attended 12 concerts each .

this leaves us with 180 guys

the numbers of concerts attended by top 10 guys has to be different from the numbers of concerts attended by the reamaining 170 guys(Remember the equation 10 + 170 + 20 ) .This means that 170 guys are placed in between the top 10 and the bottom 20 guys .The minimum number of concerts that the top 10 guys can attend can be 14 . So the remaining guys must attend 13 concerts each .
any change in the numbers of concerts attended by the bottom 20 guys or middle 170 guys will Validate D as the answer to this CR .

Check this out..

All tough inference questions are math problems :)
First take: 640 (50M, 27V) - RC needs 300% improvement
Second take: coming soon..
