SC- Kashmir government

Since it came to power in November, the Kashmir government, headed by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, has followed a policy aimed at healing the physical, psychological and emotional wounds of the people, and easing the suffering of Kashmir's sick and homeless.


A. aimed at healing the physical, psychological and emotional wounds of the people, and easing
B. aimed at the healing of the physical, psychological and emotional wounds of the people, and to ease
C. aiming at the healing the physical, psychological and emotional wounds of the people, and easing
D. the aim of which is the healing of the physical, psychological and emotional wounds of the people, and easing
E. with the aim to heal the physical, psychological and emotional wounds of the people, and to ease

Why is E wrong ? I thought one should avoid use of "ing" verbs on GMAT?

'with the aim of to heal' is unidiomatic expression. You aim AT something.
A uses it and healing and easing is parallel as well. Whats the OA?

There is no such rule that verb+ing are not used on the GMAT. Infact, it is quite common

There is no such rule or supporting facts that GMAT avoids using ing verbs.

"aimed at" is perfect here as in A.

Please refer Manhattan SC - "with the aim to" is not an accepted idiom
