Solution:

We see that the keg of Silvermoon beer is emptied from 1/2 of its capacity to 1/3 of its capacity in 1½ = 3/2 hours (from 5 pm to 6:30 pm). Therefore, the normal rate of the keg of Silvermoon beer is emptying is:

(1/2 - 1/3)/(3/2) = 1/6 x 2/3 = 1/9

Since the rate of emptying the keg triples during the happy hour, the rate during the happening is 3 x 1/9 = 1/3. Since (1/3)/(1/3) = 1, we see that the keg will be emptied by the end of the happy hour, which is 7:30 pm.

Answer: A
