I have a question regarding the "self reporting" of gmat scores on the applications. It seems that several of the schools to which I am applying ask only for my top 2 scores. I have taken the exam 3 times with the following scores:
1) 650 - V-32/64%, Q-48/78%
2) 690 - V-41/93%, Q-44/63%
3) 710 - V-44/97%, Q-44/63%
I will obviously report the 710 as my top score, but I am debating whether I should report the 650 as my next best score instead of the 690 (since I scored higher in quant on that exam and very close to the 80% desired by top programs). I am all the more tempted to do this because my undergraduate "pure math" grades were not stellar (due to a terrible freshman year). However, I majored in accounting and my grades improved each year in college (plus I earned a masters in accounting), worked in accounting as a licensed CPA, and now work in investment banking -- so my coursework following freshman year and my work experience demonstrate quantitative abilities.
I recognize that the schools will receive my "official score report" which will have all 3 scores; however, it appears that most schools use the "self reported" schools to actually evaluate the candidates for admissions decisions and then simply have someone vouch that the self reported scores agree to the official report.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
