seems as idiom

Choose the sentence with properly used idiom (emphasized with boldface). Please note that a wrong answer choice may be grammatically correct.

A.It seems like the company is slowly running out of new features to add.
B.The company seems as if it is slowly running out of new features to add.
C.It seems as if the company is slowly running out of new features to add.
D.All of the above
E.None of the above

The correct answer is C.

What is wrong with B? it refers to company, isn't it?

B changes the meaning and C keeps the meaning as it is.

B means company seems something
C means something else seems about company

Additionally, It seems as <some situation is happening> is less awkward/wordy than <something> seems as if <it>.... The GMAT rewards the most terse answers.
Now I have another q.
Is the idiom always seems AS, and not seems LIKE?
