Let's start with this... what is it that you'd want to do post-MBA? You are 100% correct that there is so much more to GMATs & GPA. Good thing for you is that your GMAT score won't hold you back form any schools. It's within range for sure...no matter what anyone else tells you... I didn't have ...

I can tell you that when I was accepted to Johnson at Cornell University back in 2011, I was ecstatic, but when I got the call in..... maybe May/June, that I could not attend because of some historical financial things, I was devastated unless I could figure those things out. I had already made all ...

The question you need to ask yourself is if you really need to rush right now to apply in the 2016/2017 season. Is it imperative that you get through all of the application stuff now? Or can you wait a year and apply with the best application that you can. I can tell you 100% - that if you rush to g...

Well let me say this as I haven't been on this forum in quite some time, but I'm seeing that it may still need my help. The "industries" that you've listed for schools that have a good reputation for marketing, strategy and entrepreneurship - but also in consumer goods & retail... show...

Agreed... do not add that in there. Is that to say that planning your wedding was more stressful than the consultant who was flying across the country every week while working 12hrs/day... or the investment banker who was also working on a deal... or the non-profit person who lost a huge donor and.....

Yes, for sure! You'd be remised not too. Why wouldn't you want to go to an Open House of a school that you could potentially attend? That being said, don't go just to go and be able to check your name off of a list. I've got a whole check-list of things that one should do... ;-)

This is actually easy for you to figure out since all of the publications give their methodologies. So just go to each one and take note of where Duke is ranked higher than UCLA and vice versa if that case exists... then you'll find your answer! ;-)

I feel like this is the leg-work that you should do on your own as it's a pretty big blanket question. I will say that your GMAT score is great so well done on that front! You've got about 2.5 full months to do all of the research needed on all of your target schools to be able to put together a ste...

Send the scores... and move on. It's not a big deal as they'll see your scores anyway (especially if it's your first time applying). I agree with Critical Square... too much time and energy is spent on this. Just send them.. save yourself the extra money of having to do it later.

I won't go in depth here, but do not sell yourself or your experiences short! there are all types of vets in business school... as the son of two retired army vets, I felt very close to my veteran classmates some of whom were officers and some of whom were not. the best thing that you can do in your...

Can some things go on your resume? If you can't fit them all then make sure to jot down the ones that you can't fit and be sure to mention them in your interviews.

you've got to think of your story a different way: - "seasoned" :-) - non-profit background = unique perspective, different from the finance/consulting types Yes, your age and GPA will work against you, but it's not totally a lost cause. I had a classmate @ Johnson at Cornell University wh...

I mean think of it from their perspective. They don't really know you and you're asking what your chances are... Whatever answer they would give you wouldn't suffice. I'm not saying that one can't discuss their profile with adcom members but to ask generic questions and such is something I would adv...
