That's a tough one - to be honest I wouldn't know. I somehow think though that a very strong GPA from a top 50 is better than a poor GPA from a top 10 school. On the other hand, sometimes b-schools publish the undergrad institution (without GPA of course) in the profile of their class book. That boo...

I've definitely heard of Copenhagen Business School, but more in terms of research (so professors who publish). In terms of the MBA, it's less known. In the Financial Times global 100 MBA ranking it is not included, neither in the Economist global ranking. http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankin...

If you went to a top 50 undergrad program then you should have a very high GPA to offset the fact that you didn't go to a top school. If you don't have a good undergrad GPA (e.g. <3.0), there actually may be a way to improve your academic performance. If you graduated with a liberal arts degree (or ...

I think you may be going to an outside MBA for the wrong reasons. Instead of just making you look better and "creating a world class leader in you" (ps: B-schools do value humility!) your primary reason for pursuing an MBA outside of the US is to also work there post-MBA. If you attend INS...

It probably depends on which program you are fine with (if you want to go to a prestigious b-school as you say). From your initial list, Stanford is a huge stretch, and Duke, UCLA and Haas are far stretches as well. Applying now would be extremely tough: - It's R3, so even more competitive - Your GM...

Great post overtime. Totally agree that some business experience is valuable for both you as a student to enjoy all facets of the MBA and your peers who want to learn from your experiences as well. Also, remember that recruiters look for MBA graduates ready to take on leadership positions. Unless yo...

You may want to consider a Masters in Management 1yr program. They are designed for those straight out of college and will be better at giving you an entry-level job post graduation.

I would just report the final GPA you received from your undergraduate institution. If for some odd reason you didn't receive a final GPA (which would be very weird) then check whether that course you took over the summer was just transfered as credit, or if the grade was transfered as well. That wi...

That may be true that CS is a tough degree, however, even with some "adjustment" your GPA would still be quite below average. I think they may also use the fact that you have a CS degree to take a better look at your GMAT, e.g. making sure your verbal part is ok. The schools you mention ar...

There are only few decent 1-year programs in the US (e.g. Kellogg). European bschools tend to be 1 year programs, with a few exceptions (LBS, IESE). Here are the best known ones: - INSEAD (probably the best 1 yr program worldwide) - IMD (maybe 2nd best around) - Cambridge JUDGE - Oxford SAID - Insti...

It all depends on the reasons for your below average GPA. If I was the AdCom, I'd be curious as to why your GPA dropped that much after you transferred schools. So if you were just plain lazy, then that wouldn't make the best optional essay. However, if there were any family problems (e.g. illness o...

I think AdComs will understand if some candidates were too busy with their jobs to be actively involved in ECs. And as Nikhil writes it's only one part of the entire application. Some applicants think that in order to get into bschool you need to have 5 years of volunteering experience. That's not t...
