Because 'meeting' SDT qs confuse me, I've decided to do them the non-algebraic way (since it is hit and miss for me) so i would just calculate how far they got in 1 hr, 2hrs, 3 hrs etc. Even the MGMAT online class which uses this question presents this simple method as a plausible alternative to alg...

Hi guys, thanks for all your input, I did this a different way. I calculated all the possibilities for men being chosen.
MMM
4/10 * 3/9 * 2/8
MWM
4/10 * 6/9 * 3/8
MMW
4/10 * 3/9 * 6/8
WMM
6/10 * 4/9 * 3/8
I then added the answers and got 1/3

Hello, the above methods are great but I did this in a slightly different way (this won't work for all qs). The first thing I do w/ RDT questions is check that all the units align. here I changed everything to seconds. So cog P can do 1 rotation in 6 seconds. Cog Q can do 4 rotations in 6 seconds. T...

This is a fantastic site, but don't forget that it is a US site. I live in the UK and I have to say that accreditation is really secondary to me, and many people here would just not factor it in. I want to go to a top 3 US school, so these will be accredited, but I do not think that accreditation is...

Hi Lisa, I am relieved that 70% might be enough. As a lawyer I don't have much, or any, numerical experience, but I do work in finance so can perhaps highlight my involvement in negotiating financing contracts, which requires financial understanding if not concrete math skills per se. Do you think t...

Hi Jason, Thanks for letting me know. That's really helpful (if not the answer I wanted to hear!). It's going to be tough to move the math up to the 80th %, but I will have to do so as I haven't demonstrated numerical ability elsewhere. Many thanks again and congratulations on an incredible score! How well do I have to do on math?
Dear Stacy, I am nearing the end of my GMAT prep and whilst I have made significant strides in the math department, I am still lacking! I have almost two months to go and one more topic to cover, but clearly what I need to spend my time doing is reviewing the math. I recently took a MGMAT practice t...

Hi Zakatala, Thanks for writing! I'm not sure of how much use I can be because one year on I haven't made much progress! ;-) I stalled in my preparation and started my GMAT prep in February on and off. It was very difficult because I was working long hours at that time. I am about a third of the way...

Hi Sandeep, You can have my verbal score if I can have your quant score ;) No, seriously, there is a large discrepancy between your verbal and quant scores. I am certain that you can bring up your verbal score considerably. Have you looked at MGMAT's sentence correction book? If I were you I would g...
