Some of my friends found the powerscore CR bible very helpful. Perhaps you might consider checking it out if you have the time. Personally, I didn't rely on it. I initially used diagramming on paper, but after doing so many questions, diagrams just formed in my head (I think others have a similar ex...

I would focus on two major things: Timing - I'm not sure how you're performing in this area, but try to get to 2 mins per quant question and about 1-1.5 mins per verbal question. If you are running out of time in the CATs, blank questions or a rush at the end could hurt your score. Review - I'd spen...

I felt the exact same way. I studied the day before (in fact, I reviewed my SC notes in the morning on test day). I thought that this last review was pretty helpful :) I think the focus is not to get nervous finding last minute gaps in your knowledge or burning out right before the exam....so I'd re...

Nope...no problems at all writing on the pad. Mine was a little dirty and worn from use but noting major. I recommend getting a fresh pad every time theres a break (i.e. after the essays, and after the quant section)

No problem. Try to practice and review consistently. Frequent short periods over the week are better than long stretches over the weekend. The former is definitely the way to go if your schedule permits!

I'm only able to answer your first question. As far as I understand, no. You definitely haven't closed the doors into a top MBA program forever. In fact, if you are able to show a marked improvement in your next GMAT exam, it can only look favorably on you.

All the best!

I received two very good pieces of advice when I started my prep. 1) Focus on mastering the basics Practicing the toughest questions alone isn't going to be much help if there are gaps in your content knowledge. Focus on mastering concepts and making sure you're not making careless mistakes by revie...

Hi SM, I see you've already got the MGMAT SC guide. That's great. If also found the beat the gmat's flashcards to be very useful in boosting my verbal scores! Some ppl have suggested working through Powerscore's critical reasoning bible. I didn't find it very helpful, but friends of mine swear by it...

Just beat the GMAT - 740!

Just wanted to share the great news - managed to get a 740 on the GMAT! There is no doubt in my mind that I would not have been able to do so in such a short amount of time without beat the gmat's help! As for advice, I think consistent studying is really important. Above all, the GMAT seems to be a...

Re: Question!

Hi,

Just a quick question on the 2008 scholarship. I'd like to include proof of my financial need but I read on the rules page that judges will not read any attachments.

Should I just explain my circumstances in the optional essay? I really don't want to be disqualified!

Thanks! :)
