Hey crushready, I'll also be heading to Johnson this fall, and can assure you it is a solid top 15 program. What are your career goals, and where do you want to live post MBA? Are you comparing Johnson against other schools, or just trying to figure out if it's worth the investment in general? My ma...

Is it really worth the trouble? I think a BC and BU PT MBA are comparable enough where it wouldn't make a huge difference... It seems like you've already started to build a network at BU... If I were you, I'd stay put.

I have put much thought into whether or not I should apply... and I'm still not sure.
It seems a bit too regional, and I'm not interested in building a career in the midwest.

So, you're an admissions consultant speaking in public and you're not willing to disparage the product sold by any of the schools. Fair enough. But I think we can assume that everyone on this board knows a few things: There are some diplomas out there that aren't worth what students are paying. It ...

That's pretty much on the dot... and I TOTALLY agree about "top five for ME". If you were in Healthcare or energy for example, your list would look NOTHING like this... Out of curiosity Highwyre, what is YOUR top5? Right now, I'm a bit more realistic. (no H/S/W in my future) my goal is Br...

How can people speak to general perception without just parroting the rankings? We can only each speak to our own opinions, which are not based on anything but broad ideas. No one has attended all of them to make a truly informed response. The better question is to ask yourself what are the 5 best ...

would you go to an MBA program that wasn't a top 7? If you would, then apply to a few safer options. If not... All you're losing is time and money... it's your dream, go for it.
Know if you've been dinged twice now, its a long shot.. BUT, not worth it? who knows?

Hey Essay Snark, I was reading your amazing blog (by far the best Admin Consultant blog). I happened to be looking for a way to whittle my now list of 10 schools down to 5 to officially apply to. Funny thing is, I was directed to my own post at BTG... Well I thought I'd update everyone on how much y...

I think the common advice given round 1 vs round 2 is, it is better to apply during round one if you feel your app is at its strongest. If you feel the extra time will help improve your overall app, defiantly wait. This applies to GMAT scores, essays, letters of rec, hell maybe even resumes if you h...

For me, NYU vs Columbia, its 100% fit. Columbia just comes off a bit stuffy to me. If I were going for finance, I'd pick columbia in a heartbeat, but when it comes to marketing I think NYU has a slight nod. But honestly, I dont think its a huge difference. I currently live in boston, would love to g...

Hey' I'm interested in the same concentration. Right now my list looks like this (but it changes from day to day) keep in mind that I have a bias to end up in the northeast: 1 Kellogg 2 Tuck 3 Duke 4 Ross 5 NYU 6 Cornell 7 Wisconsin If I were more open to the south, texas would be on mine too. Haas ...
