Hi All,
I have taken a few MGMAT and VeritasPrep tests and I'm scoring anywhere from 730 to 790. My quant score is pretty consistent (49 or 50). In fact, while going through the test I can almost guess what my quant score will be based on the difficulty of the question being asked.
Where I need some guidance is verbal. My score ranges anywhere from 41 to 48. Overall, I'm hitting 68% accuracy on almost every verbal section no matter what my actual scores end up being. My SC is pretty consistent. But I have no way decipher RC or CR results. There is no easy pattern that points to a specific type of problems I'm missing (draw conclusion, main idea of the passage etc.).
Would someone be able to provide some guidance if i share my results? I'm more than willing to pay for an expert's analysis of my results and provide some advice.
Thanks!
Scoring above 92nd percentile inconsistently, need guidance

Hi topspin360,
Since you're scoring at such a high level on your practice CATs, when are you scheduled to take your Official GMAT?

I am planning to take the GMAT 2nd week of April. I already took it once and scored 710. Just trying to get over the median of top schools.
So I just took 2nd MGMAT test and scored 670 (45q, 36v). This is after scoring above 730 four times in a row. Not sure what to make of this. Just a bad day? or are MGMAT tests that much harder? I definitely think they are more complex numbers based and wordy than the real thing but this completely took away all my confidence.
Anyone else in the same boat?

Hi topspin360,
Since you already scored 710, I'm finding it difficult to justify your plan to retake the GMAT. Barring an Admissions Officer from a particular school telling you to retake the test because your score is too low (something I don't see happening EVER), I don't see the benefit. Your score is already at the 90th percentile; there's not much more to be gained. I'd suggest that you contact an Admissions Expert (either through this Forum or elsewhere) and ask for some specific advice before you spend any more time/money/effort on the GMAT. You've earned a score that would make any Business School happy; the other aspects of your application need to be as strong as possible if you're planning to apply to Top Business Schools, so you should be spending your time and energy strengthening them.
