Scored 710 ..... Is it good enough ????

Hi Friends,

I registered on this site a couple of weeks ago but never actually posted anything. Though I admit that I've used the various forums especially the ones which feature the various challenging Math and Verbal problems for the GMAT. And I've sure found them pretty useful for my preparation. I'd like to thank all the people who posted the questions and also those who've replied to them.

I gave GMAT 2 days ago and scored 710. As for my preparation, I began barely a month ago and just referred the 12th Edition of the OG. I attempted the 2 GMAT CATs available on the GMAC website and score 700 on one & 720 on the other. To be honest, I couldn't prepare much due to lack of time.I'm a working professional, and as such, cannot devote much time to classes or even self-study.

Kindly let me know how good a score of 710 is? What B-schools can I hope to get into with this score? Should I prepare some more and give another shot at the GMAT aiming for a 750+ score.

My Details are as follows : --

QUALIFICATION : -- Bachelor of Engineering ( Electronics )

WORK EXPERIENCE : -- 4 years & 4 months of which the past 3 years and 8 months were with a leading Telecommuncations company.

ACADEMICS : -- My academics have been good throughout school and college. Have scored a distinction in both my 10th and 12th examinations.

Unfortunately, I do not have any extra-curricular activities to boast of. This is where I think I lose out.

Kindly advise me as I'm a bit unsure whether to apply with a score of 710 or not.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions or advice.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Like2BMyself.

Contrary to what I said in another post literally a minute ago, if you barely studied and got a 710, maybe you should dedicate another month and try to rock out a 770+. It'd be hard to reject a candidate with that high of a GMAT score to many top tier schools. I could be wrong though.

GMAT is just one component of your application. Once a GMAT score is deemed decent by the adcom, they wouldn't bother about your GMAT score again. 710 is a decent score. Work on your apps. Frankly, a 750 wouldn't affect your profile more than a 710 will.
