GMAT 540 (Q45, V20) Need Some Help...

by bolt » Tue Aug 23, 2011 3:11 am
Guys...
I am very disappointed, i have given my test today.
my verbal was devastating.
i think the scaled score 20 was from CR.

i completely lost SC and RC.

i have done verbal section as if my preparation was zero.
when i saw the SC questions, i couldnt figure out what was the error?
i know the rules, but when i am trying to apply, i couldnt figureout quickly what the error was..and started looking answers to eliminate...reading 2 or 3 times..the whole choices...
i lost my confidence, after attempts few questions in verbal...

i have prepared Manhattan SC, OG12, Powerprep.
but how to attack a SC and RC?
please help me guys...i am trying to figure out what went to wrong?

i am very much aware that i dont have proper strategy to attack an SC and RC questions.
but i am clueless how to improve? what should do now..??

I havent Lost my Hope...
i am giving one more trial in one month from now.

help me how can i improve my score.

I think the above errors indicate that you need to go back to the drawing board and revise english grammar. Wren & Martin would be a great book to start with. I think 1 month is too soon for you to give this exam. Please take some time to revise the english grammar.

What are your gmat prep scores? You must have panicked in the exam as it is nowhere near what you expected. Psycometric tests such as GMAT are designed to throw the test taker off- balance. Before you take GMAT again, try to be consistent with your skills. you should know what are your strong as well as weak areas clearly. try to improve both.

All the best.

Hi

Well the good part is that you are smart, you know where you need to work on and you know that you can do lot better than this.

To start with you did not mention how much time did you prepare for all this.

You got the right resource but did you practice each and every strategy and did you challenge yourseld after that.

What was you gmat prep scores.

first- i need to learn SC strategies , practice a lot from OG, Test your self frequently .

And most important you must read as much as you can after mastering Manhattan SC you should make our from the question that there is a error or not if not , you have bonus answer choices.

Hope you will improve a lot. And come out as a confident Gmater.
