Please explain the mistakes in the options.

I think this is a pronoun question - 'its' is ambiguous, so I eliminated A,B,C. D removes the ambiguity of what the analysts are refering to, as well as maintaing a parallel structure with 'to tax'

I'm going with D.

Any thoughts??

It must be D.

'to tax' sounds correct.

taxing...is incorrect

a) 'whatever it's merit' - it here refers to nothing.

I think the answer is misprinted in the book. Answer must be D.
