Hello Experts,

I have an OK GMAT score- Solid recommendations- Writing good SoP's.- 3 years IT+Entrepreneurship ex.

Besides all that :
I have contributed to an NGO in the past 1 year->https://www.earthorgannization.com/default.aspx

I recently learned that NGO contribution is valued in admission to some Bschools.

The Executive Director and C.E.O of the earthorganization can speak about me
regarding my contribution to the foundation to the colleges. I also have id's-certificates etc.

I never thought I would use this voluntary social contribution for a materialistic advantage of scoring an admission to a Bschool. But i don't mind doing that.

How is this to be done ? With my app forms ? I am about to start apps in a week. Any suggestions welcome.
Cheers !!

Hi bblast. That is fantastic that you had a great experience working with that NGO.

Most adcoms would value hearing about how you helped that NGO achieve some of its operational, financial, or strategic goals. They would also value learning about the leadership characteristics you displayed while implementing those efforts. The Executive Director of the NGO would be a great resource to provide this feedback. Therefore, be sure to ask him/her for a letter of recommendation with no hesitation.

Best,

thanks a lot Max.
should i request the CEO to draft a letter for me in his pdf letterhead(i need to do this soon as he is a busy person) ?
or do i need a signed hard copy ?

or does this work similar to professional recommendations ? in which a fixed set of questions is sent to the recommenders.
Cheers !!

I have also same doubt.

I am working with my company's CRS team from last 2 yrs and participated in various initiatives.

Do I need to take hard copy or will it be a part of recommendation letter

Hi bblast,

It is great to see that you have this non-profit experience. One important note is that it's not necessarily only the non-profit experience you have, but more importantly what you learned from the experience and how you were able to contribute. If you decide to discuss this experience in your personal essays, make sure to remember.

I hope this was of help.

Best,

Conrad and the Stacy Blackman Team

Kumar, Your NGO involvement should reflect from your essay stories, resume, possibly recommendation (if you are planning to use this as one of your referees) and the section in the application where applicants are specifically asked what activities are they involved with.

Good luck!
