Restrictive Clause:

The clause that defines the previous noun or pronoun is called restrictive clause.
Example:
I live in a city that is the capital of India.
=> Here, the city in which I live is not defined. Busing that I am giving a definition of the city.
Again:
I know a boy who is a doctor.
=> who clause has been used to defined the boy.

Non-restrictive clause:

The clause that is not used to define something, rather it gives something extra that is not essential.

Example:
I live in Delhi, which is the capital of India.
=> When I am saying that I live in Delhi, it is clear in which city I am living. "which is the capital of India" is not essential, but it is used to give extra information.
Again:
I know Arnab, who is a doctor.
=> "who is a doctor" gives extra information.
