A sum of money is distributed amongst a certain number of persons, the second receives $1 more than the first, the third $2 more than the second, the fourth $3 more than the third and so on, If the first persons get $1 and the last person $67, what is the number of persons and sum distributed?

12 persons $1190
12 persons $1490
12 persons $1560
14 persons $1350
14 persons $1490

I am getting 12 people and $298. Don't know where I am going wrong

first person = 1
2nd = 2, 3rd = 4, 4th = 7 and the sequence continues as 11,16,22,29,37, 46,56,67

Me too, the sequence is 1, 2, 4, 5, 11, 16, 22, 29, 37, 46, 56, 67. Adds up to 298.
