Greetings experts. I applied to the holy trinity last year in a bit of a hurry (essays done in a week and adapted to each other). I now repent. That said, how do these schools view reapplicants? Assuming my other requirements are decently competitive, can I state a change in my career goals when I rapply or will that significantly weaken my stance as a fickle candidate?

Your advice would be appreciated... much like a whale appreciates free kelp,
Thanks again for taking the time from your schedule and extending much needed help!

Dear Eloquent Gent,

Reapplicants are not viewed negatively or necessarily evaluated to a different standard. What you should be mindful of in writing your applications though is that your previous application could be pulled and compared to your new application. Thus you do not want to resubmit the exact same essays and, more importantly, you want to follow any specific directions for reapplicants at each school. It is fine to have a change in your career goals--not unusual--the key is in how you present your new career goals in your essays/interview. Be ready to answer why your goals have changed and address how this change in any specific "reapplicant essay" you might write.

Best of luck,
Lisa
