Dear 750Goal,

Without knowing your GMAT score and how the rest of the applicant pool looks, it is hard to say what your chances are at your target schools. In addition to having a strong GMAT, your application must provide a compelling case for admission and convey a solid rationale for going to business school in relation to your past experience and future career goals. Based on your post, you appear to have a similar background to many others in the applicant pool, so you will need to distinguish yourself from the competition. Ideally, you want to have a GMAT score at or above the average for your target schools to be in a competitive position.

Best of luck,
Lisa

Dear Lisa,

Thanks for your prompt response.
Here is a follow-up question that I am hoping to get your opinion on:

1. According to you, how recent extracurricular are considered not too old?

Certified ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt (Feb 2009)
Leadership Award for organization for gaining visibility for 0-5 years employee (Feb. 2008)
IPDA (International Public Debate Association) National Season Champions (2004, Master's level). Isn't National level considered exceptional in US? (This is from US, Master's level)
Third Prize- Business Plan Competition (2004) (Master's level)

2.What schools should I be confident in applying to? (If I get a GMAT score of 700)

Ypur input is appreciated.
