The best way to solve this problem would be plugging in answers to check which one gives the area of the square as 81.

The area of a square is s^2 where s is the side of a square.

It is also given that STXU is 1/4th the area of PQXW.

Lets assume RS is 6 then PW will also be 6 and hence the area of PQXW would be 36 and the area of STUX would be 1/4th of 36 which is 9.

The area of STUX is 9 and so each side would be 3.

Now we have the values of RS and ST.Add them up and you will get the value of a side of the big square RTPV which is 6+3=9.

If the value of the side of RTPV is 9 , the area has to be 9^2 which is 81 which satisfies the question.

Please correct me if im wrong.
