C is not right because the phrase for guiding is not idiomatic. to guide is idiomatic

A seems correct
B use of being seems akward also use of so as to seems wordy
C For guiding ; ing forms should only be used for activity that is still going on hence C is wrong
D again so as to be guide is verboise
E does not fit the sentence for guiding of is akward

Option A
is the correct answer. As it correctly depicts the writer's mind in good tense construction and proper parallelism

Option B
construction looks awkward because of the use of 'being an' this

Option C
the use of 'guiding for' here gives another meaning to the sentence and makes it look improper.

Option D.
'so as to be' is so word in this option and it doesnt not follow proper parallelism.

Option E.
'who had been' this gives the option another tense which does not fit the sentence
