The negation of all is NOT all, which means NONE or SOME.
Thanks for the concise NEGATION explanation. Couple of quick questions on this and the CR at hand -
1. On GMAT, do we need to know ANY OTHER types of NEGATION techniques EXCEPT NOT none,NOT some and NOT all ?
2. Option A, I guess, works as a weakener in this CR. Correct me please if wrong!

The negation of few is MOST.RBBmba@2014 wrote:Hi GMATGuruNY,GMATGuruNY wrote: The negation of none is NOT none, which means SOME.

The negation of most is FEW.
In the vast majority of cases, the easiest way to negate an answer choice will be to reverse the MAIN VERB.
Answer choice: John does not study music every day.
Negation: John studies music every day.
If X, then Y.2. Option A, I guess, works as a weakener in this CR. Correct me please if wrong!
In this construction, X is a PREMISE and Y is the CONCLUSION.
The implication is that PREMISE X (the if-statement) will lead to CONCLUSION Y (the then-statement).
Passage: If every country acted according to this theory, no country would trade with any other.
Answer choice A: No country actually acts according to the theory of trade retaliation.
Answer choice A attempts to weaken an if-statement (if every country acted according to this theory).
Since an if-statement is a PREMISE, it cannot be weakened.
Thus, A does not constitute a valid weakener.

A quick question on the above - as MOST can be used with BOTH countable and uncountable nouns, is SOME used,in uncountable cases , for NEGATION of MOST -- NOT MOST ?GMATGuruNY wrote:The negation of few is MOST.RBBmba@2014 wrote:Hi GMATGuruNY,GMATGuruNY wrote: The negation of none is NOT none, which means SOME.

The negation of most is FEW.
In the vast majority of cases, the easiest way to negate an answer choice will be to reverse the MAIN VERB.
Answer choice: John does not study music every day.
Negation: John studies music every day.
Or is FEW ALWAYS used for NOT MOST in BOTH countable and uncountable cases ?

NON-COUNTABLE answer choice: MOST of the gas was absorbed.
Negation option 1: LITTLE of the gas was absorbed.
Negation option 2: Most of the gas was NOT absorbed.
Either option is fine.
COUNTABLE answer choice: MOST people attended.
Negation option 1: FEW people attended.
Negation option 2: Most people did NOT attend.
Either option is fine.

For 100 tanks of gas:RBBmba@2014 wrote:Is the usage SOME of the gas was absorbed incorrect as a Negation of MOST of the gas was absorbed ?GMATGuruNY wrote: NON-COUNTABLE answer choice: MOST of the gas was absorbed.
Negation option 1: LITTLE of the gas was absorbed.
Negation option 2: Most of the gas was NOT absorbed.

most implies anywhere from 51 to 99 tanks.
some implies anywhere from 1 to 99 tanks.
As a result, some is not an appropriate negation for most.
Directly above, I suggest two proper ways to negate most.

Little of the gas implies LESS THAN HALF of the gas.
