Fuqua, kellogg, Ross and other schools are requesting the recommendation letters to be sent through an online forum where they send an email to the recommender and he would fill a forum accordingly. Some blogs and articles online say if your boss hates to do that you can email them an actual recommendation letter rather than fill the forum, but the schools mention clearly that any emailed letters of recommendation not through the forums wont be accepted. Can someone confirm whether its possible for my recommender to email the letter to the school with whatever codes required on it rather than fill the form.
The answer here is that it varies. Certain schools will be lenient, others will not. However, our position on this is fairly straight forward. Do not request exceptions unless necessary. Why exactly does your recommender not want to use the online form? If their reason is "because..." well then that isn't good enough. They're doing you a huge favor but it has to follow the rules.
However, if you choose to pursue this option, call the admissions office and speak to an admissions director to ask. Not the person picking up the phone - speak to someone who actually reads the applications.
I hope this helps!
