thedreamer,

I'm sorry, but I am not optimistic about your chances at INSEAD unless you raise your GMAT score. Your community service is also on the light side, but the GMAT is my biggest concern. so even though your work experience is competitive, unless you raise your score, I recommend you choose other MBA programs to apply to.

Thanks for your feedback Linda. Would you recommend that If I am able to raise my GMAT score, that I apply in Jan 2012 R3 of INSEAD?

What kind of a disadvantage am I at with my profile applying in R3?

Also how much at the least should I attempt to raise by score?

Thank you

I would recommend that you raise your GMAT and apply R1 for the next intake. While your work experience is strong and a plus, the prospect of applying R3 as an Indian IT applicant with anything but an exceptional GMAT and strong community experience doesn't fill me with optimism.

R3 is a disadvantage particularly for the average or typical applicant. Please see MBA Admissions: Third Round or Next Year?.

I always recommend just going in and trying to ace it. :D However to be competitive at INSEAD, you want to have percentile scores in the 70's for each section of the exam.

Best,
Linda
