Candy packs DS

by sandy217 » Wed Aug 03, 2011 2:52 am
The Orloff Candy Company packs its cylindrical candy treats in a rectangular container. The height of the container is exactly equal to the height of each treat. How many treats can be packed into each container?

(1) The circumference of the treat is 2 inches.

(2) The area of a horizontal cross-section of the container is 100 inches.

Looking at statement B. we can have one side of the container as either 2*50 or 4*25 or 10*10.

thus the data given does not let us determine the orientation of the container - not determine which side is area 100.

answer should be E.
Cheers !!
