A. We want the teacher to be him
B. We want the teacher to be he
C. We want him to be the teacher
D. We desire that the teacher to be him
E. We anticipate that the teacher will be him

The right answer is B.

The explanation is:

"He" is the subject of the sentence which takes who as the relative pronoun.

Can some one explain it for me, please?

First: "he" is a personal pronoun subject while "him" is a personal pronoun object. Since "has" must have a subject, we have to use the subject form of the pronoun as the subject of "has"..

Second: If you look at the original sentence carefully, you'll understand that "we want the teacher to be a person with some desired traits" and not "somebody to become the teacher with those same traits."
That's a significant difference in meaning. :)

who is the relative pronoun - so we need some subject before 'who' -- therefore, correct answer is B. as he is the subject of who
